What's the difference between B2B telemarketing and telesales?

These two terms are often misunderstood and are always interchanged. But bear in mind that the intention and plan of B2B telemarketing is really different from telesales. The unfavorable impression related to telemarketing is oftentimes due to its misunderstanding with telesales. The latter, as a matter of fact, is a form of telemarketing.

B2B telemarketing is very dissimilar in the sense that its purpose is to generate interest, foster additional contact, so that in the process, it can establish strong connections and calls are usually made directly to the decision makers within the likely or the present client's organization. Telesales call is normally utilized in the world of business to sell a product or service-or basically, to close a sale. Telesales will not be successful if the sale is not materialized and accomplished during the call.

Depending on the preferred results of your B2B telemarketing campaign, outbound phone marketing callers can try to attract the call recipients into wanting to hear and know more about the products and/or services they offer to the public. Or, these telemarketers also try to schedule a follow up visit with a firm representative in order to talk about the needs of the prospects, as they relate to the business, but in more details.

B2B telemarketing agents typically call and communicate in order to collect data from their clients or prospective clients to perk up their own processes and systems. These kinds of calls are regarded to as telemarketing surveys. The outcome of these telemarketing surveys are influential when it comes to developing strategic decisions, company procedures and policies.

And if you are seriously taking into consideration using a B2B telemarketing company, then, why not? There are plenty of services given by B2B telemarketing service providers to facilitate you if your company is not doing very well in the market these days. They can aid you in identifying business opportunities, build favorable leads, raise revenues, and more.

Building favorable business-to-business leads is by far one of the greatest advantages of a B2B telemarketing service provider. They could assist you on how to identify your audience and how to efficiently target them so that you would accumulate more sales and probably long-term clients. When you make use of a B2B telemarketing agency, it can help you in identifying opportunities that you may have possibly overlooked before. Sex education, grooming and the nature of liberty ? The Witch Doctor

witchround

Over the years when My Black Cat scouted around the Internet looking for Intertwinglements she came across all sorts of rubbish, unproven ?facts,? and conspiracy theories regarding paedophilia.

In addition she came across some information that seemed to be either plausible or credible. For example, she discovered that Harriet Harman and Patricia Hewitt were respectively Legal Officer and General Secretary to the National Council for Civil Liberties (NCCL, now Liberty) at the time when there was an affiliation with the pro-paedophilia groups P.I.E and P.A.L.

The following is from Wiki :

LIBERTY (pressure group)

1975?1989
From 1974-83 the NCCL was headed by Patricia Hewitt, who was later to become prominent in the Labour Party, serving as Health Secretary. A number of other future high profile Labour politicians worked at the organisation at this time, such as Harriet Harman who worked as the legal officer and her husband Jack Dromey.[11][12]

Paedophilia
In 1976, the NCCL stated to a parliamentary committee that ?Childhood sexual experiences, willingly engaged in, with an adult result in no identifiable damage? The real need is a change in the attitude which assumes that all cases of paedophilia result in lasting damage?. Organisations such as Paedophile Information Exchange (P.I.E.), a pro-paedophile activist group, and Paedophile Action for Liberation became affiliated to the pressure group. The NCCL stated they supported ?any organisation that seeks to campaign for anything it wants within the law? and that the ?NCCL has no policy on [the Paedophile Information Exchange?s] aims ? other than the evidence that children are harmed if, after a mutual relationship with an adult, they are exposed to the attentions of the police, press and court.? Groups such as P.I.E. were later excluded from the organisation.

Shami Chakrabarti, now the present director of Liberty, criticised the actions of Jimmy Savile on the Andrew Marr show today.

Harriet Harman is also adopting a high profile role.

Patricia Hewitt is saying nothing.

It would be in the public interest to hear the views that these three women held regarding paedophilia immediately before Jimmy Savile?s alleged paedophilia reached the headlines.

It would also be in the public interest to know the views held by Harriet Harman and Patricia Hewitt at the time that P.I.E and P.A.T were affiliated to NCCL (now Liberty).

Richard Murphy gives an account of a debate in his University in the 1970s and his views on why??.

NO ONE TALKED ABOUT JIMMY SAVILE

Here is some more information that My Black Cat collected involving attitudes to paedophilia in Germany in the 1970s.

HOW THE LEFT TOOK THINGS TOO FAR

?Germany?s left has its own tales of abuse. One of the goals of the German 1968 movement was the sexual liberation of children. For some, this meant overcoming all sexual inhibitions, creating a climate in which even pedophilia was considered progressive.?

The above link is probably credible.

But is what comes next credible also? Is it plausible?

A few years ago while hunting Intertwinglements, My Black Cat came across a leaflet that was said to originate from the German Government aimed at parents and schools advising them regarding sex education of their children. Apparently it went much further that even the most liberal sex education in the UK.

Unfortunately, black cats are not multilingual and neither is The Witch Doctor so we couldn?t read what it said. Anyway, we can?t find the document now but it was there to be seen some years ago. There is a reference to it in another blog. The question is:

Follow the link below. Is the post it leads to conspiratorial, plausible or credible?

This is the question The Witch Doctor has to ask herself every time My Black Cat dumps rats on the floor of The Spell Pantry.

Sometimes she is not sure of the answer.

LEGALISED CHILD ABUSE IN GERMANY : SEX AND THE PRE-SCHOOL CHILD

Jimmy Savile may be have been highly intelligent kind of sociopath. Perhaps he even intellectualised child sexual abuse. Who knows? Perhaps his beliefs and actions during his lifetime, will permit us all to question what we regard as paedophilia and form views about it that are moral, sensible, and above all our own, and not dependent on the Creep that might result from the influence of past, present or future pressure groups.

Perhaps we also need to question when sex education becomes grooming.

Perhaps these questions will lead us beyond the UK, beyond the Island of Jersey, and further afield into Europe.

Amazon adds closed captions to select Instant streams

Amazon is finally catching up to the rest of the streaming industry and adding closed captions to some of its Instant Video selections. For the moment the library of CCed content is pretty slim, with only 169 shows and 74 movies, but we'd expect that to grow pretty quickly. That does put the burgeoning media giant quite a bit behind competitors like Hulu and Netflix, who have been catering to the hearing impaired for some time. For now, captions are only available when streaming from Amazon's website, but the company promises to expand support to "additional devices" soon. For more info check out the Amazon help page at the source and the email notice forwarded to us by a tipster after the break.

[Thanks, Linda]

Cabrera wins baseball's first Triple Crown in 45 years

Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera won MLB's first Triple Crown in 45 years. (AP)

Miguel Cabrera became a baseball legend this year because of how magnificently he swung a bat. But one of the most heroic things he did all year came Wednesday night when he simply picked one up.

Cabrera became the first major leaguer in 45 years to win baseball's hallowed Triple Crown, leading the sport in home runs (44), runs batted in (139) and batting average (.330). That feat will go down in history. But those of us alive to see this achievement will remember how he could have sat out the final game and won the Crown. But he chose not to. He chose to play.

Doing so was as pedestrian as showing up at work. But that means a lot in baseball, where Cal Ripken Jr. and Lou Gehrig are deeply beloved for doing just that. So is Ted Williams, whose .406 season in 1941 is rarely re-told without the story of how he, too, could have sat out and cleared the .400-batting hurdle. But he played. "The record's no good," Williams said, "unless it's made in all the games."

Cabrera belongs among those greats now. And that has been lost in the borderline-silly debate over whether he deserves 2012 MVP honors over Mike Trout. There's an MVP every single season. But the Triple Crown winner is the MVP of MVPs. There have only been 17 Triple Crowns in the long history of baseball. Twelve of the 15 men to achieve it are Hall of Famers. They include Williams, Frank Robinson, Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle and Gehrig. They are the best of the best, players whose faces we can imagine without the help of a single highlight. Cabrera is now in that group.

[Related: Adam Greenberg strikes out in his one at-bat]

Cabrera finished the season with a .330 batting average, 44 home runs and 139 RBI. (AP)And he is also apart from that group. Cabrera is the first Latino player to win a Triple Crown. He is not only an icon in his home nation of Venezuela, he is an heir to the great Roberto Clemente.

It's unfortunate that Cabrera's lifetime achievement is drowning in the topics of the day. Baseball people spent Wednesday gossiping about the division races and a mascot race in Washington. It's perplexing, really.

"I think he's been relatively under the radar for what he's doing," Tigers ace Justin Verlander told Bob Wojnowski of the Detroit News Tuesday. "I haven't seen that much attention on him, not like it should be. It kind of annoys me, but it probably doesn't annoy him. The entire baseball world should be here right now."

He's right. There hasn't been around-the-clock coverage. Tim Tebow gets more attention. There are a few reasons for this.

The McGwire-Sosa home run chase of the late 1990s, allegedly fueled by performance enhancers, sullied the sport and made a lot of people feel duped. Cabrera is big and strong and because of that will never fully escape steroid questions, nor will any successful ballplayer these days. The fact that he's won the Triple Crown in a year with relatively little power hitting coupled with so many no-hitters is hardly noticed. Nor is it often pointed out that in this era, most hitters specialize in power or average, rather than trying to hit for both.

What's more, the statistics of the era have shifted, with more emphasis on new metrics like "Wins Above Replacement" and "Offensive WAR." Sure, the sport has to evolve, but this new language has turned a game of simple statistics that any 7-year-old can understand into one where something called sabermetrics rules the day. Cabrera may not have led the league in "Adjusted OPS," but he certainly has led the league in the stats that make a trip to the ballpark worthwhile.

No, Cabrera isn't the most beloved baseball player out there. You could even describe him as troubled. He has had battles with alcoholism, had run-ins with the law and has been in domestic disputes. He is not glib, at least not in English, which most American baseball reporters speak exclusively. There have been revealing profiles about Cabrera, but he's mostly a mystery. Safe to say this story would be much bigger if the man chasing this feat was Chipper Jones or Derek Jeter. Or even Trout.

Baseball legends are rarely ideal people. Cobb was angry. Williams was bitter. Mantle was an alcoholic. But when they came to bat, they were magical. They were magical for streaks, for seasons, for years. So too is Miguel Cabrera, who completed a work of baseball art on Wednesday by picking up a special brand of paintbrush that millions have used, but almost never quite as beautifully.

X Amount of Space Needed

Based on your responses to Tyler?s?dilemma?this week, it is common for couples to attempt a friendship with each other after breaking up. After all, the sudden separation from your best friend can cause you to feel out of whack. But readers agree that remaining close with your ex can prove to be more painful.?

??My ex and I tried staying just ?friends? but it never turned out well; there was jealousy and anger involved that clearly made me decide to cut ties completely. It was the best decision I ever made even though it didn?t seem so at the time.? ? Felicia

??I have had a long distance relationship for about 6 months and to be honest with you, it was a waste of time. Sometimes I would even have to stay up late just to chat with the significant other because she was ?bored? or felt like I didn?t give enough time? It would be much healthier having a local relationship than long distance?? ? Sid

??I was in a long distance relationship (between Michigan and Texas!) while in college and we ended up breaking up with one another due to the difficulties of being away from each other. We tried to be friends for a while but both of us still had feelings for one another and it was VERY hard to comfortably talk as ?friends.? After a few months of being apart we met up in Tennessee and found that we both missed each other terribly and got back together. I moved to Texas and we have been together for 3 more years! I am very happy and love him a great deal! Things happen for a reason and if you talk through what you are feeling with your partner (and sometimes yourself) you can often be very happy with situations you never thought would work.? ? Caitlen

??I was friends with an ex for a while and we always had a close relationship where we would even talk about other people we were interested and never got jealous?or so I thought. Come to find out he only wanted to be friends to remain close to me until he had the courage to tell me he had stronger feelings for me than before and that he wanted a relationship again. Of course, I didn?t feel the same. I don?t think Tyler?s ex will get over him if they continue talking. Also, if Tyler were to even want a relationship with someone else, I don?t think it would sit very well with her to have him talking to an ex girlfriend, especially since they visit one another?? ? Laina

??Tyler predicts that he won?t have a good relationship with his ex, yet I think he should try dating her to see the result. Now that they are matured from college, they can now handle the long distance stress a lot better. If they were able to stay in contact for an x amount of years, that shows that both are satisfied with each other and that they should get back together. I feel like Tyler will be surprised to find a different and hopefully better relationship with his ex.? ? Dode

?? I was in a long distance relationship with my first boyfriend about a year and a half ago?however the long distance was killing us so we decided to take a break after 2 years of being together? You want to know something funny, a couple of months ago he called me and apologized about everything and asked me to be in a relationship with me again. WAIT, What?? It took you a year to realize what you lost; I find that very funny. I said to him, ?Sweetheart, I moved on and I don?t have the same feelings and respect I had for you before.? Since then I don?t even want to be his friend or associate with him in any kind of way?? ? Solan

???I am still in touch with my ex, but I really feel what Tyler is saying. Sometimes I feel like my ex wants to get back together, but in no way do I. I don?t really know why we are still friends. We broke up on good terms, but our relationship was tumultuous?sometimes you just need to be aware and move on.? ? Elizabeth

??These situations are never easy because by confessing how she feels; the friendship is no longer on a mutual level of understanding?? ? Alexis

??I am still in touch with my ex, but I cannot handle it. I am in a similar situation where I am debating on whether or not to sever ties with her or not. In this situation, I am in the ex girlfriend?s position because I still have feelings for my ex girlfriend, and she just takes it for granted and does not understand my feelings. I know that it is tough to keep talking to your ex girlfriend and my advice for Tyler is that before anything worse happens, it?s just better to sever ties now?? ? ?Clint Eastwood?

?I think Tyler and his ex can be friends as long as he does not lead her on?If his mouth is saying one thing and his actions are saying another thing, it will be very confusing for the ex. Once Tyler makes it clear that he does not want a relationship, then the ex girlfriend can make the decision about continuing the friendship. Therefore, leaving Tyler with no decisions to make.? ? Jocelyn

??If I was Tyler I would say that there is a reason why they broke up and that they both should find someone who lives near them. I too keep a friendship with my ex but we both have an understanding that we are just friends and nothing more?? ? Anonymous

?I went through the same situation with my ex 3 years ago and it was a major failure. We had dated throughout middle school and high school and I moved to the states; that?s when things started going south. The only way we could talk, if we did, was through Skype or oovoo. Our schedules didn?t match most of the time so I?d be lucky to talk to her once a week. In one instance, over a month passed without contact and she got mad and broke the whole thing off and she moved on so quickly and hooked up with one of my childhood friends out the millions of guys she could hook up with. That kind of broke my heart. So I?d say to Tyler, go ahead and sever ties with her cause long distance relationships fail 9 times out of 10, according to me.?
? Isaac T.

??I was so into my ex boyfriend that it took me a while to move on. Even though it was hard for me to stop communicating with him it helped me to move on?? ? JoJo

???I actually am friends with an ex, but not close enough to text or call. That?s probably why we haven?t had these issues. We are more along the lines of ?Facebook friends? then anything else and I wouldn?t change that.? ? Steve

?I think it depends on the relationship and how it ended. To be honest, most of my relationships ended terribly and I have never spoken to them again?Tyler should sever ties with his ex before things become too complicated?? ? Tracey

??Tyler will just lead her on if he continues to keep a friendship with her. I think it?s really hard for a man and woman to ?just be friends? after they were once close?.With time, I?m sure she?ll be able to find someone in her own area who will want to be in a relationship with her.? ? Becky

??If it was an extremely deep relationship back in college, it might not be the best because there could be weak moments of relapsing that neither party?needs to go through?? ? GMU Boy

??His ?just friends? with his ex might get in the way of something bigger and better. I personally still am friends with two exes. I do not have friendly visits, but they have asked for some extended stays. I personally do not agree with that because someone always ends up hurt?? ? Busy Bee

??It?s great that he has moved on and is able to maintain a friendship with her. But if she hasn?t moved on as well, then this friendship will hurt her day by day?? ? Happy Orange

??People make things and relationships so complicated. I think they stay friends or don?t be anything at all.? ? Bobby

??make it very clear to her that he doesn?t feel the same. It will probably hurt her feelings for a bit, but in the long run it will give her closure and make it easier for her to move on.? ? Jane

Addictive properties of drug abuse may hold key to an HIV cure

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. A Florida State University researcher is on a mission to explore the gene-controlling effects of addictive drugs in pursuit of new HIV treatments.

Working under the support of a $1.8 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Florida State biologist Jonathan Dennis is studying a unique ability shared between a promising class of HIV treatments known as histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDIs) and psychostimulant drugs such as cocaine.

"Current HIV treatments do just that they treat the disease by preventing the spread of HIV in the body, rather than eliminating the disease entirely," Dennis said. "I want to find out how to root out those dormant HIV cells that are evading the treatment, and I believe the gene-controlling functions shared by HDIs and psychostimulant drugs hold the key to helping us do that."

HDI and addictive drugs such as cocaine share the ability to control gene expression through changes in the chromatin structure within DNA. In the case of HDI treatment, the chromatin changes are used to wake up dormant HIV virus cells that are hiding in the body.

Dennis believes that addictive drugs do the same thing. Dennis' work will focus on identifying and understanding the overlapping gene changes that occur between these two types of substances, ultimately providing other researchers with the foundational information they need to turn HDI treatments into HIV cures.
